Energy Saving Ideas...

To Save You Money In 2016

Throughout the winter household bills are naturally at their highest point of the year. Scarbrook Plumbing & Heating are always looking for ways to save our followers money. Not only do we give you prices that are guaranteed to be 20% cheaper than British Gas, but we give you our top tips to save energy around your home!

Energy Efficient Showerheads.
Something as simple as a different shower head may not sound like it could save you much money around the home. However, with the development of higher powered showers a greater volume of water is now being used in your daily shower.
A more water efficient head fitted to your shower could save you up to £70 / year split across water and energy bills.

Cavity Wall Insulation
Most people country wide now have Cavity Wall Insulation installed in their homes. However, if you haven’t then you could be losing an expensive amount of heat through your walls. According to the Energy Saving Trust a standard 3 bedroom semi-detached house could save around £160 / year by getting this installed.

Loft Insulation
Similarly to Cavity Wall Insulation, Loft Insulation could save a lot of heat escaping through the roof of your home. You should have 300 mm of insulation in your loft space to keep the optimum levels of heat inside you home. The correct amount of loft insulation could save you up to £175 per year with certain grants available to help you with installation.

  2. The Thermodynamic system we have from the Little Magic Box company has put our electricity bills up by £20 per month. The box is very noisy and disturbs us day and night. It seems to be constantly working. After 2 visits from the installers it is no better.
